As the Teen Wolf movie has begun filming, pictures from the set have already started flooding their social media feeds, with Crystal Reed showing some footage of her and Tyler Posey possibly filming a stunt on Instagram, and Holland Roden and Colton Haynes hanging out behind-the-scenes.
Sadly, not everyone will be returning for the movie, with Arden Cho and Dylan O’Brien having already confirmed that they will not be making an appearance as fan-favorite characters, Kira Yukimura and Stiles Stilinski due to some issues behind the scenes as well as their busy schedules. However, if Teen Wolf fans are still curious as to what they have been up to since they departed, they’ll be glad to know that they have had quite a successful career (like some of the other cast members).
Melissa Ponzio has been quite active since her departure from Beacon Hills. Continuing to appear in Chicago FirePonzio has also starred in First Wives Cluband most recently The Girl From Plainville. She is married to Kenny Alfonso and they have a grown-up daughter together (via Idol Persona).
She might not battle supernatural creatures for a living, but her life is just as busy. She frequently works with different charities, selling off lunches with fans to donate to Children Mending Hearts (via Children Mending Hearts Facebook) or several other charities of her choice. She often posts pictures alongside words of gratitude on her social media about her family and loved ones too.
There has been a lot of controversy regarding Cho reprising her role in the Teen Wolf movie. She ultimately decided not to come back, stating her reason as “pay disparity.” According to Deadline, Cho was offered half of what the other three female actors were offered and, therefore, made the decision to pass.
Since Teen WolfArden has appeared in TV shows like Chicago Med and movies like The Honor List. She is starring in the Netflix series Partner Track, which is currently in post-production. Sadly, although fans are kind of disappointed that Cho and Kira will never get the closure they deserve from the show, they are happy to hear that her career is flourishing and that she is doing well for herself.
Dylan has added a few projects to his list since Teen Wolf as well. In 2021, he appeared in the movie Malibu Horror Storyand prior to that, he starred as Henry Richmond in a Hulu supernatural teen drama series Light As A Feather.
From his social media feed, fans have learned that he is passionate about music, and he enjoys songwriting and playing the guitar. Dylan is also set to return to Teen Wolf As Liam Dunbar, so it will be interesting to see how Liam has grown since the last time the fans saw him.
Shelley Hennig has added some projects to her resume since leaving Teen Wolf. She played Carly Ambrose in the TV series Liberty Crossing and appeared on the popular Hulu series Dollface. In 2022, she also appeared in Netflix’s popular series The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.
She seems to be very excited to be diving back into the role of Malia, posting new photos every so often on Instagram with new and old cast members. It’ll also be interesting to know whether Scott and Malia will still be dating or if they have gone their separate ways due to other issues.
Reed hasn’t been nearly as active as an actor as the rest of the cast. She did appear in a season of Gothamand in a TV series called Swamp Thing. She also appeared in movies such as Too Late and Ghostland.
She is set to come back in the Teen Wolf movie, which left fans wondering how that’s possible since her character on the show is dead. However, on a show that deals with this much supernatural, anything seems possible, and at least some fans are excited at the prospect of seeing Scott reunited with his one true love.
Tyler Hoechlin has been another fan favorite from Teen Wolf. According to his IMDb page, he is returning as Derek Hale, even though it has been unclear for a while. Since departing the show, the Teen Wolf star joined the DC universe. portraying Clark Kent in several of CW’s shows like Supergirl, The Flash, Arrowetc., before finally getting his own TV show Superman & Lois.
He also starred in some of the big production movies like Fifty Shades Freed and Can You Keep A Secret?. He is extremely private about his personal life and uses his social media feeds mainly to promote his projects.
Holland Roden’s screams in Teen Wolf must have been good practice for all the horror films she’s acted in lately. In 2021, she portrayed an FBI agent, hunting for the notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in American Boogeyman (though it didn’t rank very well next to other Bundy movies).
Her career isn’t the only thing she’s been busy with. During the pandemic, she converted a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter camper van on her own, which was a dream of hers (according to an interview with D Magazine). She detailed the conversion on her social media accounts.
Dylan O’Brien has continued his acting career since finishing Teen Wolf, undoubtedly due to his amazing acting skills. Not only has he appeared in The Maze Runner trilogy, American Assassin, and The Outfit, But his talent had also accrued the attention of Taylor Swift as well, who cast him in the short film for her song “All Too Well.”
To the fans’ disappointment, O’Brien has decided not to come back to Beacon Hills for the movie reunion (so it will go forward without Teen Wolf’s funniest character). He offered a rather vague explanation, but the real reason remains unknown.
Since the end of Teen Wolf, Posey has starred in numerous projects over the years. He tried himself at different genres, like Jane The Virgin, while also returning to voice acting in Elena of Avalor and more recently in Netflix’s animation Fast & Furious: Spy Racers. Movie-wise, he recently starred in a thriller called Brut Force.
While the actor had also taken some time for himself during the five-year break to work on his physical and mental health (via ET Online), Posey has revealed on his own social media that he is touring and writing songs with his band, Five North.
